
1. 10-minute preparation
You have ten minutes to read the question and sources, and get yourself prepared for the debate.
2. To the discussion room
In ten minutes, you will be led to a discussion room. Sit in the assigned seat.

3. 1-minute speech
When the judge announces the start of the debate, make your argument using information from the sources as evidence in support of your position. Each student is given one minute in the following order.
Pro 1 ¡æ Pro 2 ¡æ Con 1 ¡æ Con 2
Speakers must stop immediately when the allocated time runs out. The judge will let you know by knocking on the desk twice when 15 seconds are left.
4. 6-minute rebuttal
Refute an argument with evidence (you can use your own sources as well as the given ones), quoting the arguments of opponents. You are allowed to freely deliver your rebuttal. No order, rule or modulation is given. But please remember that your respect for the opposing team is being evaluated.
