Gyeonggi Academy of Foreign Languages (GAFL) offers career and university counseling services that prepare students for the future and aid in their college or university search process. Our international track students apply to some of the most selective and prestigious academic institutions around the world, particularly in Korea, Hong Kong, United Kingdom, and the United States of America.

We know that university planning is a significant process for our students, since admissions requirements vary widely from country to country. Therefore university/career counselling begins in Pre-DP (Ninth grade). We encourage students and families to become involved early on in order to create a pathway for students to gain admission to colleges and universities that fit their intellectual/personal abilities, interests, and personal aspirations. This involves completing on-line surveys, managing timelines and deadlines for making decisions about universities and careers, researching colleges to include comparing Grade Point Average (GPA), standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted in the past, and lastly, signing up to attend on-campus visits from universities from around the world. Each student will be assigned a Guidance Counsellor who will work with them to ensure that they will all be well-equipped by the time they start applying to their desired universities/colleges.

As an institutional member of the International Association for College Admission Counseling, GAFL supports the NACAC Statement of Principles of Good Practice. This statement delineates the professional and ethical standards, policies, practices, and procedures that guide and govern the activities of the secondary, post-secondary, and third-party participants in the college admissions process.
