Artificial intelligence
1518 ÀÓÁÖ¿ø
How fast do you think artificial intelligence is currently progressing? Or how many times do you use an artificial intelligence in your daily life?
As a branch of computer science and information technology that studies how computers can do thinking, learning and self-development with human intelligence, it is said that it is artificial intelligence that allows computers to imitate human intelligent behavior.
These are some examples of an artificial intelligence, such as papago, Siri, clova, google assistance, chatbot , alphago and etc which we can often use in our daily lives.
These days, an artificial intelligence is progressing at a rapid pace. Robots are catching up with humans to the point that a hotel in Japan employs robots as employees. Increasingly advanced artificial intelligence is now capable of deep-fake technology. Did you ever heard about ‘deep fake’ technic? Deep fake refers to a compilation of a person's face in a certain image using artificial intelligence technology. Deep fake was originally the ID of someone who posted a composite video of a Hollywood actor's face on "Redit," a community in the United States. It was later used as a synonym for fake video clips that were very finely synthesized. Recently, a large Korean company introduced a new technology to make video clips of the person whenever they are attracting attention. In addition to images, an artificial intelligence is reproducing human voices, and there are also concerns about the damage to fake video clips.
A Korean consumer electronics company, and Moscow Research Center, have introduced artificial intelligence technology that makes videos with one picture. All you can do to create an interview video of a celebrity without any graphic work.
They say that if one or more photos are taken, one can make virtual videos that are difficult to distinguish from real ones, and convert them into animations.
It can be widely used in video calls, online games and SF movies, experts said.
An artificial intelligence also reproduces speech, and when you record a sample sentence, it creates a new sentence with that voice. You can reproduce your face and voice without human effort.
Of course, these fake videos will be very useful for making movies and characters. But is the fake video always good? In the U.S., a fake video clip of former President Obama criticizing President Trump was released, sparking controversy in the U.S. a few days ago. This is a deep-fake  technique that synthesizes a person's face into another image. This can be done by the public through any app. This means that in the future, fake images that are difficult to identify can become more widespread.
In fact, the U.S. Congress is preparing a regulatory bill based on the judgment that the "Deepfake" technology could threaten national security, and has recently developed a machine-learning model that will prevent Facebook from judging fake videos and uploading them.
While there are benefits to this increasingly advanced technology, the use of artificial intelligence threatens to damage someone and abuse it. Of course, technology itself is not guilty, but it could make it a scary world to post a picture. However, we can solve these problems. We should think twice about it and make legal systems specialized in artificial intelligence, and try not to abuse them. In other words, while quality of video contents is also increasing as technology is becoming more advanced, it is difficult to prevent cases of use of video contents by opposing pay. But the best way to stop the damage is to ensure that consumers and producers both of them should have a good sense of ethics.
